Bat Died A Hero

The crowd is deafening. Opposing players are slowly walking off the field, absolutely crushed. Teammates are going crazy after their walk-off win. And back by home plate, with no fanfare or dogpile, no pictures being taken or video focused on it, the barrel of a broken bat. And that bat, died a hero.
